N F89-F Flat with Trailer TTX Yellow (ATHGN14370)

This N scale F89-F flatcar with trailer in TTX Yellow recreates the classic intermodal pairing of a long flatcar with a 45-foot Z-Van trailer, designed for realistic TOFC and intermodal operation on model rail layouts. Decorated, fully assembled, and ready to run, this set captures the look and function of mid- to late-20th-century intermodal trains.

The flatcar rides on a heavy die-cast underframe with a detailed deck, 70-ton roller-bearing trucks, machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, and body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. Hitches can be raised or lowered to reflect different loading configurations, and the assembly is weighted for smooth, reliable operation on curves. The accompanying 45-foot Fruehauf Z-Van trailer is newly tooled for N scale, offering two body styles (smooth-sided and rib-sided) along with separately applied wire landing gear, mud flaps, and either wheeled or shoe-style landing gear with positionable bogies. The trailer body is highly detailed in injection-molded plastic, and this is a first-time N-scale offering for the Z-Van, making it a versatile pairing for intermodal scenes from the era.
