This GATC 2,600-Cubic-Foot Airslide Hopper is a detailed model of a bulk-carrier railroad car, designed to reproduce the Airslide unloading system used for bulk materials such as flour, sugar, starch and plastics. The model captures the two narrow, steep-sided bays and the air-permeable bottom that fluidizes the load for smooth discharge, with roof hatches and a brake wheel for a realistic, period-accurate appearance.

Refined with an injection-molded body and accurate paint, the car rides on machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and can use either roller bearing or Bettendorf trucks. It features body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers, factory-installed wire grab irons and brake piping, and separately applied round roof hatches. The design includes replicated gravity or gravity-pneumatic outlets to mirror unloading behavior. It is built to run on all popular brands of track and is weighted for reliable, steady operation, with storage provided in a clear jewel box.
