An HO-scale model, the N GATC 2600 Airslide Hopper faithfully reproduces a mid-century bulk-carrier designed for air-assisted unloading. The Airslide concept uses two narrow, steep-sided troughs with an air-permeable bottom, where air fluidizes the load to flow toward the outlets. The 2,600-cubic-foot single-bay design—originally introduced by GATC in the 1950s and later paired for higher capacity—is captured with authentic detail for model railroad layouts.

Highlights include a detailed underbody with outlet piping, rectangular or oval shaker brackets, gravity or gravity-pneumatic outlets, and machined metal wheels with RP25 contours. The model comes with either roller bearing or Bettendorf trucks and factory-installed wire grab irons and brake piping, plus separately applied round roof hatches and a brake wheel. Weighted for steady performance, it features body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers, accurate paint and printing on a highly detailed injection-molded body. It runs on all popular HO track brands and arrives in a clear plastic jewel box for storage.
