N GATC 2600 Airslide Hopper ATSF #310124 (ATHGN23386)

An N-scale GATC 2600 Airslide Hopper in Santa Fe livery (ATSF #310124) reproduces a 2,600-cubic-foot Airslide covered hopper. In prototype service, these cars moved bulk cargo such as flour, sugar, starch and plastics by fluidizing the load with air through an air-permeable bottom, allowing material to flow smoothly through the roof hatches and discharge outlets.

Details include a highly detailed injection-molded body with accurate underbody piping, separately applied roof hatches and brake wheel, factory-installed wire grab irons and brake piping, and machined metal wheels with RP25 contours. The model can run on roller bearing or Bettendorf trucks, is weighted for steady operation, and uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. Painted and printed for prototype accuracy, it operates on all popular brands of track and comes boxed in a clear jewel box for storage.
