The GATC 2600-Cubic-Foot Airslide Hopper is a detailed scale model of a mid‑century bulk-carrier, designed for model railroading. This airslide design uses two narrow, steep‑sided bays with an air‑permeable bottom, where air is pumped through the lading to fluidize it for easier discharge. The prototype began as a 2,600‑cubic‑foot, 70‑ton single‑bay car in 1953, with later versions sometimes configured in two‑unit sets to reach larger capacities.

The model features a highly detailed injection‑molded body and a fully modeled undercarriage, including outlet piping. It offers options such as rectangular or oval shaker brackets and gravity or gravity‑pneumatic outlets, and rides on machined metal wheels with RP25 contours. It can be fitted with roller bearing or Bettendorf trucks, includes factory‑installed wire grab irons and brake piping, separately applied round roof hatches and brake wheel, and body‑mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. Accurately painted and printed, it is designed to run on most popular track brands and comes in a clear plastic jewel box for storage.
