N GATC 2600 Airslide Hopper PRR / GACX #44132 (ATHGN23394)

An N-scale General American Transportation Airslide Hopper, 2,600-cubic-foot capacity, PRR/GACX #44132, is a detailed model of the classic bulk-carrier used to move materials such as flour, sugar, plastics, and other bulk loads. The Airslide design uses two narrow, steep-sided bays with an air-permeable bottom, through which air is pumped to fluidize the load so it flows steadily to the outlets for discharge. This version reproduces the 2,600 cu ft car and reflects how some units were later paired into two-car drawbar sets to reach 5,200 cu ft of capacity.

The model emphasizes prototype accuracy and durable detailing: a highly detailed injection-molded body, machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, and weight added for optimum performance. It can ride on roller bearing or Bettendorf trucks and includes factory-installed wire grab irons and brake piping, separately applied round roof hatches and brake wheel, and rectangular or oval shaker brackets with gravity or gravity-pneumatic outlets. The car features body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckles, accurate paint and printing, and compatibility with all popular track brands, packaged in a clear jewel box for storage.
