An authentic scale model of the GATC 2600 cu ft Airslide hopper, designed to represent mid‑century bulk‑commodity service on PRR and GACX fleets. The Airslide concept uses two narrow, steep‑sided troughs with an air‑permeable bottom that fluidizes the load so flour, starch, sugar and plastics can flow smoothly through the outlets. The model captures the car’s details with a highly detailed underbody and outlet piping, separately applied round roof hatches and a brake wheel, machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, and a choice of roller bearing or Bettendorf trucks. It features body‑mounted McHenry knuckle couplers, factory‑installed brake piping and wire grab irons, and a precise paint and print finish. It runs on all popular track brands and ships in a clear jewel box for storage.

Additional realism includes gravity or gravity‑pneumatic outlets, rectangular or oval shaker brackets, and a weighted body for dependable performance. The injection‑molded, highly detailed body is built for durability and realism, with a finish that reflects the Airslide’s distinctive load‑control design. Some 2600 cu ft cars were permanently paired into two‑unit drawbar sets to reach 5200 cu ft, a historical detail that adds depth to bulk‑freight scenes.
