This two-bay Centerflow covered hopper model recreates a classic mid‑century freight car. Based on the American Car and Foundry 2,970‑cubic‑foot design, the real car entered service in the 1950s and evolved in the 1960s to emphasize gravity unloading of dense bulk loads like cement and sand. The model captures the rounded body and durability of the era, with a detailed injection‑molded shell, accurate paint and lettering, photo‑etched roof walks, and separately applied wire grab irons and brake piping for a lifelike appearance.

In operation, the model features body‑mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers for prototypical coupling and is weighted for stable, on‑track performance.
