Lightweight and versatile, it performs well in forward or reverse operation across a wide speed range, while a puffing smoke unit adds realistic activity to every run.

Power comes from a precision motor with an electrically isolated drive for easy DCC decoder installation, and it includes a working headlight and a finely painted body with crisp graphics. See-through drive wheels with spokes, blackened metal wheels with RP25 contours, and a die-cast chassis with metal side rods contribute to a sturdy, lifelike look. A magnetically operated E-Z Mate Mark II coupler sits on the rear of the tender, and a wire-free drawbar keeps locomotive and tender connected cleanly.
