The N USRA 40' Steel Boxcar is a model that represents the historical significance of steel boxcar construction in America, particularly those from the New York Central system. Originating shortly before World War I, the NYC and PRR pioneered the all-steel box cars, with the NYC Specification 486 becoming a notable design. This model exemplifies the second most populous steel boxcars in the United States, second only to the PRR X29 cars.
