HO ATSF Blue Goose Locomotive #3460 As Delivered (BLI7390)

The HO ATSF Blue Goose Locomotive, #3460, is a model of an iconic piece of railroad history. As one of the six "Super Hudson" 4-6-4 steam locomotives built by Baldwin in 1937, the #3460 is renowned for being the Santa Fe's only streamlined locomotive. This model is presented in its distinctive light blue and silver paint scheme, which has earned it the nickname "Blue Goose." Delivered to Shopton, Iowa in January 1938, it operated many of the celebrated passenger trains until its retirement in 1956.

The model features exquisite hand-crafted brass components including the boiler, cab, and tender body, along with a heavy die-cast chassis that enhances its pulling power. It is equipped with the advanced Paragon4 Sound system, which provides synchronized puffing smoke and variable smoke intensity for a realistic experience. The locomotive also supports DCC for optimal operation across various conditions.

In terms of aesthetics, the model comes with a prototypical light operation that includes separately controllable lights, detailed figures of the engineer and fireman, and richly applied detail components like handrails and piping. The overall construction ensures that this model not only looks fantastic but also functions effectively on the tracks.
