HO scale Boston and Maine 2-8-4 Berkshire T1b Steam Locomotive No. 4023 with a 6-axle Tender. This highly detailed model captures the look and power of the late-1920s T1b class for authentic operation on HO layouts and is DCC-ready out of the box, designed to accept a sound decoder, with an 8-ohm speaker already installed to simplify adding DCC sound when desired.

Built for heavyweight pulling, the locomotive uses a heavy die-cast boiler, tender, and chassis, powered by a 5-pole can motor with a skew-wound armature for smooth slow-speed performance. Rubber traction tires improve pulling power, and detailing is rich, including handrails, ladders, piping, cab glass, a brass bell, markers, number boards, air tanks, and factory-installed engineer and fireman figures. Lighting includes directional front and rear headlights, while other lights illuminate with track power, and the minimum curve radius is 18 inches. The 6-axle tender is faithful to No. 4023, with an optional piping shroud included; a Paragon4 sound-equipped version is also available for out-of-the-box sound.
