Built with a heavy die-cast boiler, tender body, and chassis for authentic mass and traction, this model includes Paragon 4 sound with an operating smoke unit. It features an integrated DCC decoder with back-EMF for smooth slow-speed operation in both DC and DCC layouts, a 5-pole can motor with a skew-wound armature, and rubber traction tires for enhanced pulling power. Additional realism comes from separately controllable lighting (headlight, reverse light, and cab light), factory-installed engineer and fireman figures, and numerous fine details such as handrails, ladders, conduits, generators, and a brass bell.
