Built with heavy die-cast boiler, tender body, and chassis for added mass, it features a precision drive mechanism, a five-pole can motor with skew-wound armature, and an integrated DCC decoder with back EMF for smooth slow-speed performance on DC and DCC layouts. Prototypical lighting includes separately controllable headlight, reverse light, and cab light, while factory-installed crew figures and extensive detailing—handrails, ladders, conduits, generators, whistle, horn, and brass bell—enhance realism. Rubber traction tires boost pulling power, and the model is designed for a minimum 22-inch radius on layouts.
