N Cryogenic Tank Car Linde Type A (BLI8154)

Introducing the N-scale Cryogenic Tank Car, Linde Type A—a faithful representation of the prototype used to haul ultra-cold liquids on real railroads. This model is designed to move liquefied gases such as liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, and liquid argon, capturing the function and look of a high-capacity cryogenic tanker. In prototype service, these cars carry more than 15,000 gallons of liquid oxygen—roughly double the capacity of earlier designs—creating compelling scenes of cold-liquid gas transport on an N-scale layout.

Built from prototype blueprints with prototypical paint and lettering, the model features fine printing that reproduces stencils and data. It offers two roof walkway options and two truck configurations—friction bearing and roller bearing—and includes a range of separately applied details such as hand rails, grab irons, ladders, brake housing, and a brake wheel. Metal wheelsets provide authentic wheel-face contours, while Microtrains-compatible knuckle couplers ensure smooth operation on Code 55, 70, and 80 rails. A minimum operating radius of 9.75 inches supports realistic curves, and two-packs contain two uniquely numbered cars for varied lash-ups on the layout.
