Reproducing the Class D Shay’s three-cylinder, four-truck layout, the model emphasizes a heavy, weighty profile and strong tractive effort with reliable adhesion for steep grades and tight curves, making it ideal for logging, mining, or other industrial layouts on HO-scale tracks.

As part of the Stealth Series, this model is DCC-ready out of the box with no sound, while front and rear lights are directional and other lighting follows track power. An 8-ohm speaker is pre-installed to simplify adding sound, and the heavy die-cast boiler, tender body, and chassis contribute to authentic heft and pulling power. A precision drive mechanism with a 5-pole can motor and skew-wound armature delivers smooth slow-speed operation, complemented by rubber traction tires for improved pulling ability. Finishing touches include prototypical lighting with separately controllable headlight, reverse light, and cab light, plus a wealth of finely detailed features such as handrails, ladders, conduits, generators, whistle, horn, and brass bell.
