HO RF-16 Sharknose Locomotive B&O 857X (BLI8275)

The HO-scale RF-16 Sharknose Locomotive for the Baltimore and Ohio recreates Baldwin's iconic shark-nose diesel in a faithful HO model designed for heavy freight duties. Sharknose locomotives were renowned luggers, regularly hauling ore and coal drags, and this replica captures the distinctive profile and classic livery of the B&O version. As part of the Stealth Series, it is DCC-ready out of the box with no sound, making it easy to add a decoder and sound later if desired.

On the layout, directional front and rear lights provide realistic signaling, while other lighting activates with track power. An 8-ohm speaker is installed to simplify adding DCC sound, and the drive system is engineered for heavy towing and smooth slow-speed operation. Features include all-wheel electrical pickup, an ABS-bodied shell with a die-cast chassis for maximum traction, prototypically accurate paint schemes and road numbers, plus many separately applied details such as grab irons, horns, and a bell. Metal Kadee-compatible couplers come standard, and the model is designed to operate on Code 70, 83, and 100 rails with a minimum 18-inch radius curve.
