HO RF-16 Sharknose Locomotive B NYC 3707 Cigar Band (BLI8277)

HO RF-16 Sharknose Locomotive B NYC 3707 Cigar Band (BLI8277)

The HO RF-16 Sharknose Locomotive B NYC 3707 Cigar Band is a remarkable representation of the iconic diesel locomotives built by Baldwin Locomotive Works between 1950 and 1953. Distinguished by their unique shark-nose design, these models are an embodiment of railway history, having been used extensively by railroads such as the Pennsylvania Railroad, New York Central, and Baltimore and Ohio. With functionality that surpasses many of its contemporaries, the RF-16 was capable of hauling heavy ore and coal drags thanks to its powerful engine that delivered 1600 horsepower.

This particular model in the Stealth Series is DCC-Ready and does not include sound. It boasts features designed for smooth and efficient operation, including all-wheel electrical pick-up and a precision drive mechanism allowing for heavy towing and smooth slow-speed operation. The front and rear lights are directional, adding to the model's realism, and it is designed to operate on various rail codes while achieving a minimum operating radius of 18 inches.

Built with attention to detail, the RF-16 features premium caliber painting and prototypically accurate paint schemes and road numbers. Many separate details, such as grab irons and horns, enhance its authenticity, making it a great addition to any model railroad collection.
