HO EMD GP35 ATSF 3338 Bookend Scheme with Paragon4 Sound (BLI8882)

The HO EMD GP35, represented in the ATSF 3338 Bookend Scheme, is a detailed model of the iconic 4-axle diesel-electric locomotive that played a crucial role in American railroads during the mid-1960s. Built by EMD and later by General Motors Diesel, over 1300 units of this powerhouse were produced, serving various railroads across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. This model is equipped with the Paragon4 Sound/DC/DCC control system, providing advanced sound capabilities including Rolling Thunder technology, which enhances the realism of operations across DCC and DC modes.

It features an integral dual-mode decoder that ensures exceptional slow-speed performance, ideal for both freight and passenger train settings. The precision drive mechanism is designed to handle heavy towing while maintaining smooth operation. The locomotive's body is crafted from ABS and sits upon a die-cast chassis, maximizing tractive effort and durability. Additionally, premium painting ensures a prototypically accurate finish, complete with road-specific details and lighting arrangements.

This model also includes many intricately applied details such as handrails, grab irons, a horn, a bell, and etched metal grills, which contribute to its realistic appearance. Accurate light operation is maintained for each paint scheme, and it is fitted with metal Kadee-compatible couplers for easy connection with other rolling stock. The model will operate effectively on various rail types, including Code 70, Code 83, and Code 100, with a minimum operating radius of 18 inches.
