HO EMD SD45 Locomotive EL 3623 In Service (BLI9002)

The HO EMD SD45 Locomotive EL 3623 (In Service) is an HO-scale, no-sound, DCC-ready model designed for DC operation out of the box and ready for a sound installation if you choose. It recreates EMD's 645E3 20-cylinder engine from the prototype, delivering about 3,600 horsepower, and features directional front and rear lighting with other lights that stay on with track power. An 8-ohm speaker is preinstalled to simplify adding a DCC/sound decoder.

Built with a die-cast chassis and ABS body for weight and traction, the model uses a precision drive mechanism designed for heavy towing and smooth slow-speed operation, plus all-wheel electrical pickup for reliable power. It wears prototypically accurate paint with road-specific detailing and lettering, and many separately applied parts such as handrails, grab irons, horn, bell, wipers, and etched grills. Two metal Kadee-compatible couplers are included, and the locomotive will run on Code 70, Code 83, and Code 100 track with a minimum 18-inch operating radius.
