Union Pacific Power Car 2066, HO-scale, is a faithful recreation of a former ACF postal storage car rebuilt to serve as a power car behind UP excursion trains and office car specials. Inside, it houses two Deutz diesel engines powering generator compartments, a control room, a walk-in cooler and freezer, and commissary storage, with a private bedroom in the control room for the electrician who monitors and maintains the systems on the move. This power car has appeared behind both steam- and diesel-powered excursion trains and is offered in variants that include or omit the roof antenna, and with or without sound, including a primer-gray version ready for customization to a personal roster.

On the outside, the model emphasizes authentic Union Pacific styling with precise paint, color, and lettering, plus many separately applied details such as handrails, grab irons, antenna, and carefully rendered underbody features. The interior is prototypical to Car 2066 and includes dimmable interior lighting, while two Kadee-compatible couplers ensure reliable operation. It’s compatible with HO Code 70, 83, and 100 track and has a minimum operating radius of 18 inches, making it a versatile addition to excursion consist setups and a convincing centerpiece behind UP locomotives on a home layout.
