HO EMD GP30 C&O 3024 Model with Paragon4 Sound (BLI9135)

The HO EMD GP30, C&O 3024, represents the iconic diesel-electric locomotive built by the General Motors Electro-Motive Division. Manufactured between July 1961 and November 1963, this model pays homage to a total of 948 units built for railroads in the United States and Canada. The GP30 was specifically designed to rival the GE U25B locomotive, which offered more power. With a 16-cylinder 567D3 engine producing 2250 horsepower, several enhancements over the previous GP20 model were introduced for improved performance, including a modernized body design with an increased height to house a central air system and turbocharger.

This particular model features Broadway Limited's cutting-edge Paragon4 Sound/DC/DCC control system. The locomotive is equipped with various prototype-specific details and offers exciting operational features such as superb slow-speed control in both DC and DCC modes. It also includes separately applied details such as handrails, grab irons, and etched metal grills ensuring a high level of realism.

Additionally, the individually controllable lights enhance the authenticity of the experience, with specific light arrangements for front and rear, including numberboard lights and classification lights. This model is engineered for excellent performance with all-wheel electrical pickup, a precision drive mechanism suitable for heavy towing, and the ability to operate on various rail codes.
