HO EMD GP30 Reading Railroad Green & Yellow Paragon4 Sound Locomotive (BLI9155)

The HO EMD GP30, decorated in the Reading Railroad paint scheme of Green and Yellow, features the advanced Paragon4 Sound system, capable of operating on both DC and DCC setups. Originally built between July 1961 and November 1963, the GP30 is a 4-axle diesel-electric locomotive made by General Motors Electro-Motive Division. A total of 948 units were manufactured, designed to compete with General Electric's U25B. The GP30 boasts a 16-cylinder 567D3 engine capable of producing 2250 horsepower. To enhance performance, it includes a precision drive mechanism for heavy towing and smooth operation, alongside several prototypical details. This model is equipped with high-quality sound effects and road-specific details for an authentic experience.

The model's features include a dual-mode decoder that supports incredible slow-speed performance, an all-wheel electrical pickup system, and a robust ABS body with a die-cast chassis for maximum tractive effort. Additionally, it incorporates many separately applied details like handrails and grab irons, as well as accurately operating lights tailored to the specific paint scheme. It is designed for compatibility with Code 70, Code 83, and Code 100 rail systems, requiring a minimum operating radius of 18 inches.
