HO PRR B6sb 0-6-0 Steam Switcher #134 with Tender (BLI9170)

HO PRR B6sb 0-6-0 Steam Switcher #134 with Tender (BLI9170)

The HO PRR B6sb 0-6-0, numbered 134, showcases a post-war appearance paired with the 60S66A tender, and features the innovative Paragon4 sound system. Originally built between 1916 and 1920, this class of steam switcher locomotives, commonly known as "shifters" by the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR), boasts a remarkable history as the railroad's most successful steam switcher. With 238 units constructed, these locomotives were equipped with power reversers that facilitated quicker and easier switching moves. This model reflects the robust design necessary for demanding roles in major freight and passenger yards during its operational era.

With over 36,000 lbs of tractive effort, the B6sb did its job efficiently even during the upheaval of both World Wars. Though phased out in favor of diesel switchers in the 1940s and 1950s, the legacy of these engines endures, with one surviving example preserved at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg, PA. This version from Broadway Limited showcases the upgraded features of the Paragon4 series, which includes synchronized puffing smoke, variable intensity smoke, and an array of sound operations that enhance the experience of model railroading enthusiasts.
