HO PRR S1 6-4-4-6 Duplex Unlettered DCC-Ready Locomotive (BLI9377)

An HO-scale replica of the Pennsylvania Railroad S1 6-4-4-6 duplex locomotive, famed for its Raymond Loewy–designed streamlined shell and distinctive wheel arrangement. This unlettered, DCC-ready model is offered in a no-sound Stealth Series version that runs on DC out of the box and can be upgraded with a sound decoder for full operation on a modern layout.

Crafted with a handcrafted brass boiler, cab, and tender bodies on a heavy die-cast chassis, the model uses a 5-pole can motor with a skew-wound armature and a precision drive mechanism for smooth slow-speed operation and steady pulling power. An 8-ohm speaker is preinstalled to facilitate adding sound, while directional front and rear lights are active out of the box and other lights illuminate with track power. The model includes engineer and fireman figures and a wealth of separately applied details such as handrails, ladders, piping, cab glass, whistle, brass bell, and more, plus rubber traction tires for better traction. Two spare flanged drivers are included to swap in for a more prototypical appearance.
