EMD SW7 Switcher UP 1816 is a compact N-scale diesel-electric yard switcher reproduced from the prototype’s 44-foot design. In Union Pacific yellow and gray, this Stealth Series model ships No-Sound and DCC-Ready, giving hobbyists a quiet option out of the box or the freedom to add a decoder and sound later. It's built for yard work and short-transfer tasks where nimble, reliable switching is key.

With an ABS body and die-cast chassis for weight and traction, plus all-wheel electrical pickup and a precision drive for smooth, controlled motion, this model delivers dependable performance at slow speeds. An 8-ohm speaker is installed to simplify upgrading to sound, and two MicroTrains-compatible couplers are included. It will run on Code 55, 70 and 80 rails and requires a minimum 9-inch radius, while prototypically accurate paint schemes, detailed features, and road numbers complete the look. Front and rear lights are directional, and remaining lights illuminate with track power for realistic operation.
