Designed with a large 1.5-meter wingspan, the Apprentice STS offers excellent stability and visibility, making it ideal for learning to fly at RC club fields or in larger open areas. Its stable design, coupled with exclusive SAFE (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology, provides Beginner, Intermediate, and Experienced modes that make flying easier, even for those just starting. With an optional upgrade to SAFE Plus technology, pilots can enjoy advanced GPS-enabled features like AutoLand, Holding Pattern, and Virtual Fence, enhancing safety and ease of use.

The Apprentice STS is powered by an efficient brushless motor system, delivering the power needed for confident flight, even in moderate winds. Equipped with a 30A telemetry-capable ESC, it provides real-time telemetry data, such as motor RPM and battery voltage, to compatible Spektrum transmitters, including approximate battery power via LEDs on the DXS transmitter. This version also includes rugged tricycle landing gear with a steerable nose wheel, enabling smooth takeoffs and landings on surfaces like grass, dirt, and pavement. For even more versatility, an optional float set is available, allowing for fun water landings.

The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version of the Apprentice STS includes everything needed to fly except the battery and charger, allowing pilots to customize their power setup with options like the convenient Spektrum Powerstage 3 bundle. The included Spektrum DXS transmitter, equipped with DSMX technology, is versatile and can be used with other Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft as pilots progress. Alternatively, a BNF Basic version is available for experienced pilots who want to use their preferred Spektrum transmitter and equipment.

Built with durable EPO material, the Apprentice STS 1.5m is designed to withstand everyday flying. Its wing attaches with rubber bands, allowing it to "pop" free in a crash to reduce damage. The model is mostly factory-assembled, requiring only a quick final setup without glue or special tools.
