Estes Recovery Wadding is essential for ensuring the safe operation of model rockets, featuring a flame-resistant design that protects the recovery system during launch. This recovery wadding is specifically required for most Estes rockets, except those utilizing tumble recovery.

The wadding is placed between the rocket motor and the parachute to shield the parachute from possible damage caused by the ejection charge. Without recovery wadding, plastic parachutes risk singeing or melting when exposed directly to the motor's ejection force. Each package contains 75 sheets of recovery wadding, which is sufficient for approximately 18 to 25 flights, making it a vital component for any model rocket launch.
