Transparent red covering options, including Lightspeed LITE Transparent Red and Horizon UltraCote Lite Transparent Red, provide a lightweight, high‑tech polyester finish for RC aircraft. Designed for easy application, it uses a multi‑temperature adhesive/shrinkage system and a patented polymerizing process that permanently fuses the color to the film, eliminating color‑layer separation and allowing the covering to be repositioned as you work. Weighing about 0.12 oz per square foot, the covering is light, waterproof, and fuelproof to glow fuel, gas, and oil.

Its ability to shrink and stretch helps it go smoothly around tight curves and wing tips. The film bonds to clean, smooth surfaces, and you can attach at about 220°F to set the adhesive, then shrink with higher heat (300–350°F) to tighten wrinkles. The result is a durable, glossy red finish that resists moisture and fuel exposure, suitable for a wide range of model aircraft from sport to scale.
