1991 Ford Mustang Fox Body Street Eliminator Clear Body for 1/10 Drag Racing (JCO0362)

JConcepts has adapted the iconic 1991 Ford Mustang into a street eliminator machine intended for street racing, offering drops to popular SCT conversions and drag racing builds. The design showcases the Mustang's non-basic transportation roots, emphasizing its capability for straight-line racing. With a history spanning over a quarter century, the Mustang continues to resonate with racing enthusiasts, evoking a smile from any motor head when mentioned alongside the term "œFox body." The Mustang embodies a contemporary and bold look paired with a legendary fighting spirit, ensuring immense driving pleasure. JConcepts aimed to enhance the street eliminator class by integrating the "œFox Body" into its offerings. The development team researched early model Mustangs, leading to the specifications of approximately 12.75" wheelbase and 10.75" width to align with SCT trucks used in drag racing competitions. The final design features a low-slung appearance, tight wheel well openings, a hood scoop, a bobbed tail, and an extended front fascia. Additionally, a versatile rear spoiler option is included, attaching with an under/over technique. The package comprises a custom window mask, a 1991 generation Ford Mustang-specific decal sheet, and a clear polycarbonate body, all underpinned by JConcepts' reputable customer service and the support of their world-wide racing team, achieving both style and authenticity.

JConcepts relied on its team of drivers and enthusiasts to inform this creation, notably showcasing the new body at the 2018 Super Nationals at Texas Motor Speedway. Fred Reep and JD Crow introduced the prototype mounted on a Traxxas Slash 2wd base vehicle converted for drag racing. The construction utilized various stock Traxxas components, including Bandit suspension arms and big bore performance shocks, resulting in a vehicle designed to compete in street eliminations across different racing formats. A custom decal package was crafted to match each part of the body, with licensing from Ford secured in July 2018 for an authentic look and finish, followed by promotional visuals leading to the official release.

The lower rear spoiler support should be mounted to the trunk's back using double-sided tape or shoe goo. The upper wing section rests atop the base and is secured similarly. This rear spoiler enhances the visual appeal and completes the street eliminator project. The Mustang body measures approximately 12.75", with inside dimensions of 10.75" wide at the front and 11.375" at the rear, designed for a 2wd SCT wheelbase. Careful planning and modification of your build is advised to ensure compatibility with the body. The display vehicle is compatible with Hotties tires (#3193 front and #3194 rear) crafted specifically for 12mm hex StarTec wheels (#3387B), designed for performance and offered in a range of compounds. The StarTec wheels are injection molded, promoting both durability and lightweight characteristics while available in stealth black.
