The Landmines, available as pre-mounted for the Slash rear and Slash 4x4 front and rear, have been developed over a two-year period of testing, tuning, and analysis, and are now available to the SCT enthusiast. The design starts with a robust carcass that is carefully shaped and sized for various conditions, enabling it to drive over different terrains while maintaining a scale appearance. The team has invested significant time in creating a split-block center design that has been sliced, stepped, and recessed for flexibility and adaptability over sharp, loose, and polished surfaces. The Landmines feature alternating solid and cavity pads that are advantageous for transitioning smoothly from dirt or pavement to muddy or rocky terrain. The edges of the carcass boast horizontal grippy pads with channels that enhance forward climbing traction. Down in the tread, the innovative lightning pattern, knob plots, and connector bars help the design function effectively in both shallow and deep sinking situations. Once power is applied, the tread spacing opens up, allowing for deep digging, making it an excellent tire for dirt and muddy conditions. As the tread extends down the sidewall, an additional tread and side-lugging come into play. The grippy radial ring ensures a consistent rubber contact patch in pinched scenarios, while the new traction bars alternate between angular and island mapping to provide extra grip. The combination of flexibility and strength in the yellow compound, along with the lug arrangement, provides a grippy feel while preserving the crucial scale and performance aesthetics. The tires are pre-mounted on the Hazard wheel, delivering an appealing appearance, and maintain ample ground clearance for traversing diverse terrains.
