HO-scale shelf couplers built around the Kadee Magne-Matic system offer reliable, magnet-assisted coupling for HO rolling stock used on shelf-style layouts. These 19/64-inch center-height shelf couplers come in a two-pair package and include a metal coupler with a centering spring, plus an insulated draft gear box and lid with side and center mounting holes for easy installation.

Mounting options include using the provided insulated draft gear box or pockets from the manufacturer. Manual uncoupling requires a dedicated dual tool. The SF shelf style can be modified to resemble the F-type shelf or H-type passenger car couplers. To prevent electrical shorts, avoid placing a metal coupler directly on metal surfaces or in metal gear boxes; always use the insulated gear box.
