HO Whisker Coupler 9/32" Center Shank (2) (KAD158)

The #158 "Scale" All Metal Self-Centering "WHISKER" Coupler features a "Scale" Metal Coupler, which is patterned after the type 'E" couplers, and includes a Metal "WHISKER" Centering Spring, insulated Draft Gear Box, and Lid.

The #158 Coupler can be mounted with the supplied #242 draft gear box or with the manufacturer's cast-on coupler pockets. It is compatible with other Kadee HO and HOn3 couplers for coupling and uncoupling. The coupler shares the same shank length as the NO.5, 28, or 58 coupler, enabling modelers to replace existing NO.5, 28, or 58 couplers with the new smaller coupler. The #158 coupler is constructed from the same metal as the NO.5 and #58, ensuring strength and rigidity.

To prevent electrical crossover or shorting that could cause damage, it is advised not to use a metal coupler directly on a metal surface or within a metal draft gear box. The insulated draft gear box provided should be used instead.
