Designed for realism and dependable operation, this model features body-mounted KATO magnetic knuckle couplers, directional Golden White LED headlights with illuminated number boards, and a five-pole motor with all-wheel electrical pickup and blackened wheels. It’s DCC-friendly with a pre-built speaker housing space in the fuel tank, and see-through venting on the locomotive sides can be lit with an optional interior lighting kit. The wheels use hybrid steel and plastic construction for authentic detail and reliable pickup, and the Charger’s extended nose and larger fuel and sand tanks are faithfully reproduced with new molding and design to match Amtrak’s cross-country configuration.
