Designed for reliable operation on HO tracks, it features a separate brake wheel, body-mounted scale knuckle couplers, 33-inch machined wheels with RP25 contours, and a weighted chassis for steady performance. The injection-molded, highly detailed body is painted and printed for realistic decoration, and the 18-inch minimum radius ensures smooth navigation on typical HO curves. These 50-foot mechanical reefers were delivered to many railroads during the mid- to late-1950s and 1960s as mechanical refrigeration displaced ice bunkers, marking a shift to more consistent cooling in freight service.
