HO-scale rebuilt FL9 locomotive for ConnDOT, McGinnis 2016. This detailed model reproduces the ConnDOT fleet rebuilt in the mid-1980s from the classic FL9 and is designed for HO-layout operation, capturing the era’s upgrade that added Head End Power and modern electronics. The ConnDOT units originally ran on the former New Haven lines and were operated by Metro North, with the New Haven-era black, white and red livery and the distinctive rear-end treatment.

Fidelity and features: The model blends the original FL9 detailing with rebuild-era updates, including HEP rooftop details with a large 36" fan or dual fans, modernized underbody components, and nose and rear HEP plugs, plus optional operating ditch lights. It is available in DC/Silent (21-pin DCC Ready) or DC/DCC/Sound configurations powered by ESU LokSound V5, with separately applied wire grabs and a Mo-Power capacitor for reliable DCC operation. Steam Generator variants carry as-built details for added realism.
