HO PFE R-40-27 Reefer 6-Pack (RPI196001)

An HO-scale six-pack of Pacific Fruit Express R-40-27 refrigerated cars, reproduced in plastic for HO layouts and finished in the 1957 PFE scheme. This set is designed to add authentic mid-century reefers to a model railroad, letting hobbyists recreate the look and operation of classic ice-cooled cars on a layout.

Detailing is drawn from prototype blueprints and field measurements, delivering accurate scale and authentic detailing. The model includes separate wire grab irons, correct running boards and brake wheels, and cooling fan housings tuned to each road number, plus positionable roof hatches. Free-rolling trucks with turned metal wheels ride on Rapido Lincoln-Washington semi-scale metal couplers, and the paint schemes are faithfully applied with multiple road numbers included. This release marks the first plastic representation of these cars, expanding HO layouts with a historically significant PFE reefer.
