HO PFE R-40-27 Reefer 6-Pack TIV Repaint (RPI196007)

This six-car HO-scale set reproduces Pacific Fruit Express R-40-27 refrigerator cars in a 1970s Top-Icing Ventilated (TIV) repaint. The plastic HO model, produced by Rapido, is designed for era-accurate operation on HO layouts, letting modelers build a believable mid-century PFE roster with multiple road numbers for variety.

Each car is carefully scaled from prototype blueprints and field measurements and features separate wire grab irons, correct running boards and brake wheels, and accurate cooling fan housings per road number. The roof hatches are positionable, and the fleet rides on free-rolling trucks with turned metal wheels and Rapido Lincoln-Washington semi-scale metal couplers. The paint and decoration are faithfully applied, with multiple road numbers available for each scheme to add realism to a PFE-focused layout.
