Real cars were 54 feet long, weighed about 36 tons, and carried up to 100 tons; the models reproduce that rugged design with a simulated wood deck, a heavy steel underframe, and Buckeye three-axle trucks, along with metal knuckle couplers and wire grab irons and stirrups drawn from the original blueprints.
