HO PA-1 and PB-1 Locomotive Set ATSF #51A, 51C (RPI23046)

HO-scale Santa Fe PA-1 and PB-1 Locomotive Set recreates Santa Fe's distinctive repowered Alco PA and PB locomotives of the 1950s, specifically ATSF 51A and 51C. This second-run release from Rapido Trains reproduces the 1954 upgrade to EMD 567C power, including the raised mid-carbody to house the larger prime movers and the twin exhausts and EMD-style fans that defined the class.

Designed for serious modelers, the set is rich with road-name specific detailing and period-correct features. Highlights include correct nose and roof profiles 3D-scanned from the prototype, full underbody piping and conduit, separate grab irons and handrails, etched metal grilles, lit number boards, and a full cab interior. The locomotives are offered as A units or A-B sets, with options for DC Silent (21-pin DCC Ready) or DC/DCC/Sound and a LokSound V5 decoder for authentic sound and response; operating Gyralite or red Mars light is included where appropriate, and the drive system is prized for smooth operation.
