This Rapido release reproduces Fairbanks Morse’s 1600-horsepower hood-unit from the 1950s to the early 1960s, offering road-name-specific detailing and authentic dimensions that bring an authentic era to an HO layout.

Road-name-specific features include hood doors and handrails, with separate grab irons installed at the factory, plus two car-body configurations—dynamic and non-dynamic—and full underbody piping and conduits. The model also carries lit number boards, headlights, and green-and-white class lights, and is available in DC-only, silent (DCC-ready 21-pin), or DC/DCC/Sound configurations. Prototypical trucks (Dofasco or Fairbanks Morse), steam generators where appropriate, and different fuel tanks depending on the road name add to realism.
