HO GE 44‑Tonner Switcher Locomotive with DCC and Sound is an HO‑scale model of the General Electric 44‑tonner, a compact diesel switcher built for light yard work and industrial switching on model railroad layouts. Commonly called the 44‑tonner, these engines were designed for one‑man operation, making them ideal for tight industrial tracks and shortline service. This release features all‑new tooling that captures multiple phases and detailing, arriving in authentic NH Warm Orange livery for an authentic look on classic layouts.

Built for durable yard service, the model features a heavy die‑cast chassis and fuel tank, with two styles of fuel‑tank skirt, separately applied door latches, and a full cab interior with photo‑etched steps. A smooth dual‑flywheel coreless motor provides steady operation. DC models are DCC‑ready with a NEXT‑18 decoder socket and speakers, while DCC models are sound equipped with ESU decoders and sounds and include a Mo‑Power capacitor for reliable performance through long runs. The tooling covers Phase Ic, Phase III (with optional lighted hood side number boards), and Phase IV, delivering a range of detailing variations to match different eras and layouts.
