HO GE 44 Tonner Switcher Locomotive with DCC and Sound (RPI48521)

Rapido Trains' HO scale GE 44-Tonner Switcher Locomotive with DCC and Sound is a compact diesel switcher designed for light yard work, industrial switching, and shop service. Built in 1940–1956 with all-new tooling, this model captures the 44-tonner’s distinctive size and sturdy construction, including a heavy die-cast chassis.

Available in multiple phases and configurations, including Phase Ic (a new plastic offering) with or without lighted hood side number boards, Phase III with positionable top hood hatches, and Phase IV, the locomotive features a full cab interior and photo-etched cab steps, two styles of fuel-tank skirting, and separately applied door latches. A smooth-running coreless motor with dual flywheels powers the model, while DC versions are DCC-ready with NEXT-18 sockets and speakers; DCC-equipped variants come with ESU sound decoders and a Mo-Power power capacitor for reliable operation.
