N SF RR-56 Mechanical Reefer SanFran Chief Slogan (RPI561002A)

The N-scale Santa Fe RR-56 Mechanical Reefer model reproduces the Santa Fe Railroad’s mid-century mechanical temperature-controlled refrigerator car, complete with the San Francisco Chief slogan. The RR-56 class was classified as All-Purpose Mechanical Temperature Control (MTC) cars, and RR-60 and RR-61 variants were built to the same standards with different insulation.

Drawn from original blueprints and photos, the model features authentic detailing such as separate door posts, door latches and coupler cut levers; a fully detailed underframe with piping and equipment; cushion draft gear; two roof hatches for open or closed operation; see-through side grills; and a Trane diesel generator included. This level of craftsmanship makes it a faithful centerpiece for any N-scale layout.
