N SF RR-56 Mechanical Reefer Plastic Model Kit (RPI561003)

An N-scale plastic model kit that recreates the Santa Fe RR-56 Mechanical Reefer, a mid-century refrigerated boxcar designed for mechanical temperature control. Based on original blueprints and photographs, the kit captures the car’s distinctive details and includes a Texas Chief slogan variant for era-specific markings.

The model features a fully detailed underframe with piping and equipment, separate door posts, door latches and coupler cut levers, and cushion draft gear. It also includes two roof hatches for open or closed operation, see-through side grills, and a Trane diesel generator, all designed to produce a highly realistic Santa Fe reefer on an N-scale layout.
