N SF RR-56 Mechanical Reefer Chief Slogan (RPI561004)

This N-scale model recreates the Santa Fe RR-56 Mechanical Reefer, a mid-20th-century refrigerated car designed for mechanical temperature-controlled service on model layouts. Introduced in 1955, the RR-56 class formed Santa Fe’s first large fleet of mechanical reefers and served as an all-purpose carrier for temperature-sensitive loads.

Based on original blueprints and period reference photos, the model delivers authentic fidelity with separate door posts, door latches, and coupler cut levers; a fully detailed underframe with piping and equipment; cushion draft gear; two roof hatches for open or closed operation; see-through side grills; and a Trane diesel generator included for added realism on N-scale layouts.
