An HO-scale F40PHM-2 Locomotive in Metra Fade recreates the iconic Chicago-area commuter engine that powered Metra trains for decades. Designed to run on DC layouts and suitable for DCC layouts as well, this model brings the distinctive Metra look and presence to a railroad collection, ideal for recreating classic commuter scenes.

Meticulous detailing includes a Winnebago-style front, dual rooftop air conditioners, extensive underbody piping and wire grab irons, plus working headlights, marker lights and a backup light. A functioning Gyralite and a Stratolite or strobe light appear where appropriate, along with working ditch lights and factory-applied wire grabs. See-through etched-metal radiator grills and dynamic brake grills, a fully painted cab interior, and an accurate fuel-tank profile with exhaust silencer enhance realism. Sound-equipped versions feature a LokSound V5 decoder for authentic engine and horn sounds, powered by a refined five-pole, skew-wound motor for smooth operation on both DC and DCC layouts.
