1/18 TXC-4M Exreme Crawler Ready to Run with Battery and Charger (Green) (TRA120074-1-GRN)
This item is currently available for Preorder.
The Traxxas TXC-4M Extreme Crawler is a purpose-built 1/18-scale trail and rock crawler engineered for exceptional climbing capability, precise low-speed control, and competition-inspired performance. Its clean-sheet design combines a lightweight monocoque chassis, aggressive forward weight bias, portal axles, high-clearance suspension geometry, and a powerful 3s brushless system to create a compact crawler capable of tackling demanding technical terrain.
The rigid one-piece composite monocoque chassis is lighter and more torsionally rigid than a conventional ladder-frame design. This allows the battery, speed control, suspension, and other components to be positioned low in the chassis for improved balance and a lower center of gravity. A roughly 60/40 forward weight distribution increases front-wheel traction during steep climbs while improving steering authority and rollover resistance.
Power comes from a 3350 Kv sensorless brushless outrunner motor paired with a 3s brushless electronic speed control and an included 11.1-volt 250 mAh 3-cell LiPo battery. The high-reduction 74.1:1 internal gear ratio delivers exceptional torque and extremely precise throttle response at crawling speeds while still providing lively performance on the trail. Field-oriented control programming further improves low-speed motor control, while the speed control includes LiPo overvoltage protection, two-stage low-voltage detection, a 6-volt BEC, and waterproof construction.
Three selectable drive profiles allow the TXC-4M to adapt to different driving conditions. Sport Mode provides traditional forward, brake, and reverse operation. Trail Mode adds a trail-tuned drag brake while the throttle is in neutral for greater control on descents. Crawl Mode provides instant reverse operation and 100 percent hill-hold braking to help keep the vehicle securely positioned on steep obstacles.
The full-time shaft-driven four-wheel-drive system is built to handle the torque of 3s power. The single-speed transmission uses all-metal gears and sealed ball bearings, while fully locked front and rear axles use metal spool gears and steel axle shafts to deliver equal power to all four wheels. Heavy-duty telescoping CV center driveshafts, steel outer driveshafts, and high-strength U-joints provide durability and allow the suspension to articulate freely. A 25 percent overdrive front axle helps the front tires pull the vehicle through tight technical sections and assists with climbing and turning performance.
Portal axles increase center ground clearance by raising the axle housings relative to the wheel centers while also reducing torque twist through the chassis. The portal assemblies use strong two-gear construction, wide metal drive gears, and sealed ball bearings for smooth and durable operation. Steel front portal weights and a steel front axle cover place additional mass low and forward on the vehicle to further improve climbing stability.
The TXC-4M uses a triangulated four-link suspension system with high-clearance lower links for excellent axle control and articulation. Lay-down GTM Pro shocks are mounted horizontally to allow generous wheel movement while helping keep the center of gravity low. The oil-filled shocks feature precision-machined 6061-T6 aluminum bodies, sealed construction, and controlled damping for smooth performance across rough and rocky terrain.
Competition-inspired steering geometry provides an impressive 60-degree steering angle for an exceptionally tight turning radius. A laterally mounted waterproof 2265 high-torque servo produces 75 oz-in of torque and features an all-metal gear train, aluminum center section, and extended metal servo horn. High-angle steering knuckles, steel U-joints, a high-clearance drag link, and direct steering without a servo saver provide precise control through difficult lines.
Large 1.3 by 2.8-inch Stone Claw tires use a soft, high-grip rubber compound with tall stepped tread blocks and wide directional sipes for strong traction on rock and loose terrain. Lightweight foam inserts allow the tires to conform to uneven surfaces for additional grip. Functional three-piece Method Race Wheels 105 beadlock wheels securely capture the tire beads and use a standard 7 mm wheel hex. Optional brass wheel weights can be added separately for even more low-mounted mass.
The lightweight tube-frame body provides generous clearance for technical crawling while helping maintain a low center of gravity. Replaceable body panels and a detailed interior with driver figure give the crawler a distinctive scale appearance and allow additional customization. The clipless mounting system latches at the front and snaps securely into place at the rear, allowing quick access to the chassis without traditional body clips. Integrated provisions for optional headlights, a roof light bar, and rock lights simplify installation of separately available lighting accessories.
The TXC-4M is capable of a 56.3-degree driving incline angle and a 79.8-degree static incline angle in its stock configuration. Its combination of forward weight bias, low-mounted components, grippy tires, high ground clearance, and articulated suspension also provides strong side-hilling performance for technical crawling courses.
A TQ Compact 2-channel 2.4 GHz transmitter provides long-range, interference-resistant control in a lightweight ergonomic package. Its color-matched grip includes a removable adapter to better accommodate smaller hands. The compact TQi-compatible receiver includes dual servo and LED channels for added flexibility.
The included 3-cell LiPo battery supplies 11.1 volts and 250 mAh of capacity through a keyed iD connector that prevents incorrect connection to the speed control. An included USB-A quick charger with iD technology automatically manages the charging process and battery balancing without requiring complicated settings.
The TXC-4M measures 9.22 inches long, 5.86 inches wide, and 4.2 inches tall, with a 6.6-inch wheelbase, 5.86-inch track width, and 1.7 inches of center ground clearance. Ready-to-run weight is approximately 1.03 pounds. The battery compartment measures approximately 41 mm long, 22 mm wide, and 14 mm high.
The brushless motor measures approximately 0.94 inches long and 0.63 inches in diameter and weighs about 0.63 ounces. The 3s brushless speed control measures approximately 1.33 by 0.98 by 0.55 inches, weighs approximately 0.92 ounces, and provides a 6-volt BEC.
The package includes the TXC-4M ready-to-drive crawler with clipless tube-frame body, 3s brushless power system, TQ Compact 2.4 GHz transmitter, 11.1-volt 250 mAh 3-cell LiPo battery, USB quick charger with iD technology, and maintenance tools. Four AA alkaline batteries are required for the transmitter. Charging also requires a USB-A power source, with a minimum output of 2 amps at 5 volts or greater recommended.
