Currie Portal F9 Rear Axle for Axial SCX10-II (VPS08360)

Currie Portal F9 Rear Axle for Axial SCX10-II is a portal-equipped rear axle upgrade that adds significant ground clearance under the center of the axle. The integrated portal box yields about 13 mm (1/2 inch) more clearance and houses a 1.67:1 gear reduction, with an optional 1.4:1 overdrive that can tune performance. It’s a direct AR44 rear-axle replacement using stock links and ships as a complete rear axle assembly. Portal axles are designed to be used in pairs with a matching front portal axle for balanced performance.

Built for rugged crawling, the assembly uses chromoly inner rear shafts with triple-bearing support and chromoly stub shafts, plus an aluminum 12 mm hex with a set screw. It works with the SCX10-II linkage and includes a Fast Eddy Bearings kit and one-piece bearing retainers (patent pending), along with double shear shock mounts and upper-link mounts integrated into the third member to improve upper-link clearance and suspension travel. Expect enhanced ground clearance and an overall axle reduction of about 6.26:1 with stock portal gears. Wheel fitment depends on hub size and offset, so check compatibility with your wheels (some wheels require larger SLW hubs or higher offsets).
