Currie Portal F9 Rear Axle for Axial SCX10-II (VPS08361)

Currie Portal F9 Rear Axle for Axial SCX10-II is a high-clearance portal rear axle that replaces the stock AR44 rear on Axial SCX10-II models. By housing the gear reduction inside the portal, it adds about 13 mm (1/2 inch) of ground clearance at the axle ends, delivering the feel of a taller tire while keeping overall geometry intact. The system uses a 1.67:1 portal ratio with an optional 1.4:1 overdrive to tailor gearing, and the overall axle reduction with stock portals sits around 6.26:1. This setup reduces torque load on upstream drivetrain components, helping the drivetrain stay durable on rough terrain. It is designed as a direct AR44 replacement that accepts all stock SCX10-II links and comes with everything needed to assemble a full rear axle, including the Vanquish AR44 machined gear set.

Durable construction features chromoly inner rear shafts with triple-bearing support and chromoly drive pins that taper to a 5 mm thread, plus an aluminum 12 mm hex with set screw. It uses all SCX10-II linkage and ships with a Complete Fast Eddy Bearings kit and one-piece bearing retainers (patent pending), along with double-shear shock mounts and upper-link mounts built into the third member to maximize suspension travel. The hex-to-hex width is about 7.66 inches, roughly 5 mm wider than a stock AR44 axle, and wheel compatibility notes call for a 350 SLW hub or larger on Vanquish 1.9 wheels (Incision wheels require a #4 or greater offset; other brands may vary). For best results, axles should be installed in pairs, and overdrive gear sets are recommended for front axles only.
